Sunday School

Every Sunday after the morning service

(there is no Sunday School during the summer holiday period)

Sunday School

Castlefields Sunday School takes place immediately after the Sunday morning service in the back rooms.
Children are welcome to join the Sunday School from the age of three.

During the morning service

Children's talk

It is usual for Sunday School aged children to remain in the service at Castlefields. There is a picture placed at the back of the church which parents are welcome to take. The children can then colour this in during the service. (Colouring pencils are not provided).

In the first half of the service there is a children's talk. This introduces the Sunday School lesson for the day and subsequent work done in the Sunday School is based on this talk.

During the Sunday School

All the children first join together to sing and pray. They then split into four age groups to discuss the children's talk and elaborate on the important points. We use the "Go Teach" worksheets to support the lessons. The children are also encouraged to memorise verses of scripture.

All of our Sunday School teachers have undergone the appropriate CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checks for working with children.

The importance of children's work

We consider ourselves to be greatly blessed by God at Castlefields in having many children. As a church, we take this responsibility and privilege very seriously. The children and their families are regularly prayed for at the midweek meetings and during the Sunday services as well as by individual members of the church. They are encouraged to participate in church activities.
